The first incarnation this Unofficial Training Program was first introduced by Sgt Kaijj of Red Platoon. Originally called the GRUT programme (Green/Red Unofficial Training), it was inspired to provide extra training for any Marine that wished to attend. For reasons that do not need to be mentioned here the GRUT programme fell into obscurity until it was recently re-implemented under the name of the 101ST UT.
This new version of the programme is organised by the 101st UT Committee which consists of 3 volunteers from each of the 3 Bravo Company Platoons.
The head of the committee is currently Sgt Soul of Green Platoon. He is supported by MSgt Stone of Red Platoon and Pfc Anchovy of Blue Platoon.
There are 5 101st UT ranks called Classification Licenses, and the medals are based around these. There are no official tests that can be taken to gain these medals, they are awarded in the 101st UT session report which is posted on the Bravo board forums after assessment of each participants skill during training.
Marines must note that 101st UT does not replace the need to attend official training such as MTS and STS.
